The lady Maleficent flew next to her raven, her beloved raven. It was the only thing that she ever felt maternal love for. Her pitch black jagged and leathery wings beat thrice, maintaining her velocity as she sped through the night, down from the mountains she reigned over. She soared high above the densely packed clusters of trees that formed the lost forest. It was a lengthy travel from the badlands that she resided in, hence why she had elected to shift her form into that of the dragon. It allowed her to travel much faster. Speed was of the utmost importance for the evil fairy at this moment: it was imperative that she find the glade that she had spied in her divining. There was an extraordinary magic that would soon manifest from this glade in the vision that had come to her when she stared into the esoteric waters of the smooth and exquisitely carved obsidian bowl. With her curiosity peaked, she immediately took to the skies with a tremendous roar that resonated throughout her lands as she shed her human coil and emerged as the scaled beast.
An uncountable expanse of land passed, she felt the psychic pull of the glade coming close. However, it was too small for her to land in. So she had to land a stone's throw away from it. With practiced skill, she felt the earth underneath her shudder as she landed. Her fearsome talons dug deep and rending the soft grass from the fertile earth. With a sneer, she transformed back into the statuesque form that she was so used to. The breeze blew her blonde tresses, but she paid no attention to it as she made her way towards the glade that was just ahead. Her beloved Diablo landed on her hand as she held her hand out to him. "What does this forest hold for me, my pet?" She asked Diablo, petting the base of his neck and back. He quickly clambered his way up her arm and rested on her shoulder, cawing joyously at the affection he was receiving from his mistress. Clearly there was a magical event of close to unfathomable power that was about to transpire in this area of the woods. She hoped that she could manipulate the pulls of the arcane energy that would soon pulsate visibly through the air for her own benefit. Anything that could bolster her own power was not to be overlooked, even if the travel had left her somewhat drained.
Maleficent would not give her way just yet. Not until she saw whom or what was to make its way into the glad, which she could now peer through the trees which hid her. She did not fear anything that walked these lands - she did not fear much at all. However it would be folly for her to step into such an open space without an idea of what she may have been up against. Especially since she now had prior knowledge of something of great power taking place in the glade. Which if the feeling that was in her gut was right, would be taking place shortly.
